Our humble beginnings

Our journey began in 2014 when we launched our very first Shopify app, White Christmas. That first installation in October 2014 marked the beginning of our mission to create apps that truly help Shopify merchants succeed. Since then, we have worked tirelessly to build a robust portfolio of Shopify apps, each designed to address specific needs and challenges that merchants face every day.

While White Christmas has recently been sunsetted (early 2025), it holds a special place in our hearts as the foundation upon which all of our future innovations were built.

Evolving and expanding our portfolio

Over the years, we aimed to develop tools that would support Shopify merchants throughout the year. Following White Christmas, we also created more festive apps to celebrate special moments beyond Christmas - including Halloween, St. Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and Mother’s Day - each designed to bring a seasonal spark to storefronts.

However, we did not stop there. At Code Black Belt, we are dedicated to addressing the genuine challenges our merchants encounter. From the very beginning, we listened closely to their feedback, and we used that insight to fuel our innovation.

Apps designed with you in mind

Over the years, we have developed some truly powerful Shopify apps that have helped merchants grow their businesses. Here are our brightening star apps that define who we are:

• Frequently Bought Together and Also Bought: These apps are all about recommending the right products to increase sales, whether as bundles or individual products.

• Currency Converter Plus: Before Shopify Markets came to life, we helped merchants provide international pricing options. Even now, with Shopify Markets, we maintain compatibility and add even more value for our merchants.

• Shipping Rates Calculator Plus: Aimed at reducing cart abandonment, this app shows shipping prices upfront, creating a more transparent and reliable shopping experience.

• Add to Cart Anywhere: Created to let customers add products to their cart from multiple key touch points across the store - making the buying process smoother and helping merchants increase revenue by reducing steps to checkout.

• Keep & Share Your Cart: This app allows customers to share their cart contents, helping merchants increase brand visibility and potentially generate additional sales.

• Video Background: This app allows you to embed TikTok, YouTube, and Vimeo videos directly into your store, increasing engagement and showcasing content in a visually impactful way.
  

Joining the Shop Circle family

In May 2023, we became part of Shop Circle, a group of Shopify app developers from around the globe. This acquisition has opened up new opportunities for us, allowing us to continue developing world-class apps while benefiting from the expertise and resources of a larger team. Being part of Shop Circle has reinforced our commitment to innovation and supporting Shopify merchants with the best tools in the industry.
