Getting customers to add products to their cart is already an important step towards a sale. But the cart can also be a valuable place to encourage them to discover something else before completing their purchase.
Frequently Bought Together can now display recommendations directly on the cart page, giving merchants another opportunity to increase order value at a moment when customers have already shown a clear intention to buy.

Instead of ending product discovery when customers leave the product page, the cart widget keeps recommendations visible further along the buying journey. This creates another chance to promote additional products, accessories, seasonal items or other products that could complement the order.
Because the cart contains several products rather than one main product, recommendations work differently here. The widget uses global and random recommendations, allowing merchants to decide which kinds of products they want to promote across their store rather than relying on a recommendation linked to a single product.
For customers, this means they can discover additional products without leaving the cart or interrupting the purchase flow. For merchants, it means making better use of existing traffic and purchase intent, with another opportunity to increase the value of each order before checkout

The cart widget joins the existing Frequently Bought Together experiences on product pages and checkout, helping merchants keep cross-selling opportunities visible at different stages of the purchase journey.
The cart page widget is available with the Frequently Bought Together Professional plan.
