Perfecting the look of your shipping calculator just got a lot easier. Shipping Rates Calculator Plus now includes a live preview for both the main widget and the free shipping bar. Every visual adjustment you make is reflected instantly, so you can see exactly how things will look before saving a single change.
How the widget preview works
You will find the widget live preview inside the Visual Styles section on the app preferences page. It loads a sample of your widget exactly as it would appear in your store, pulling in the colors and appearance of your current Shopify theme to give you the most realistic view possible.
How the free shipping bar preview works
The free shipping bar preview is available in the Free Shipping Bar section of the app preferences page, right alongside the settings for enabling the bar, setting your free shipping goal, customizing messages, and adjusting text, background, and price colors.
The preview lets you switch between three states so you can check every version of the bar before going live:
- Empty cart: This shows the message customers will see before they have added any products to their cart.
- Progress: This shows the message customers will see when they still need to spend more to reach free shipping.
- Threshold reached: This shows the message customers will see once the free shipping goal has been unlocked.
All visual settings, including text color, background color, and price text color, are reflected in real time, so you can evaluate both the messaging and the design together in one place.
Why this matters
Until now, getting the widget or free shipping bar right meant saving your changes and checking your live storefront, then coming back to adjust, and repeating the process. That loop takes time and introduces uncertainty.
With live preview, you always have an accurate visual reference while you work. What you see during setup is what your customers will see on your storefront.
